Service Hours and Frequency
The BART station is just across the street from the OAK terminals. Take a quick 8-minute train ride from OAK to the Coliseum BART station, which has connecting service to all BART destinations. See map below, or plan your trip using the QuickPlanner.
From Coliseum Station, transfer to a Richmond-bound train. It takes about 12 minutes to get to the 12th Street/Oakland City Center station, right downtown, a few blocks from Oakland Chinatown and Jack London Square. To return to OAK, take a Warm Springs-bound train to the Coliseum station and go upstairs to transfer to an OAK train at Platform 3.
From Coliseum Station, transfer to a San Francisco/Daly City-bound train for a 21-minute ride to downtown San Francisco. From BART’s four downtown San Francisco stations, it’s an easy walk or short cab ride to most downtown destinations including hotels and the Moscone Convention Center. Find your hotel on this San Francisco BART map. To return to OAK, take a Warm Springs/South Fremont or Dublin/Pleasanton-bound train to the Coliseum station and go upstairs to transfer to an OAK train at Platform 3.
Children 4 and under ride free. All other passengers must have a BART ticket or Clipper card. BART tickets are like debit cards with stored value. For travelers landing at OAK, there is no need to purchase a BART ticket or Clipper card until after you arrive at the Coliseum BART station. Purchase a BART ticket or regional Clipper card on Platform 3. Ticket vending machines accept cash, credit, or debit cards. BART’s fares are based on travel distance. To find your fare, click here To enter the BART system, insert your ticket into the fare gate and it will be returned to you, or tap your Clipper card on the top of the fare gate. Use the same ticket or card when you exit. The correct fare will be deducted automatically. If your ticket has too little value, a sign on the fare gate will tell you to go to a nearby Addfare vending machine where you can add enough value to your ticket to exit the BART system.
Luggage may be stowed under your seat, held in your lap, or placed on the floor next to you. Please keep the doorways clear.
All BART stations have elevators and wide faregates that provide extra space for large luggage.
